The heart of Sardinia, in the territories of Nuorese, Barbagia and Ogliastra are characterized by an impervious and wild nature and an ancient history. Here are the most famous mountain ranges in Sardinia: the Gennargentu massif with its highest peak in Punta La Marmora, the limestone massif of Monte Albo or the limestone-dolomitic one of Monte Corrasi. And still the ancient mountainous complex of Supramonte which covers an area of ​​about 35,000 km, between the territories of Oliena, Orgosolo, Urzulei, Baunei and Dorgali.

This area is full of unique features such as one of the largest canyons in Italy, the Gorroppu Canyon or the Nuragic Village of Tiscali, with its millenary history shrouded in mystery.

Also here you can admire and visit the fantastic Cedrino Lake. Nestled among the mountain complexes and surrounded by the most intense greenery, it is one of the most magical areas of the entire island.

Here you can find ancient villages, to visit and discover like the towns of Mamoiada, the aforementioned Orgosolo or Ulassai. History, tradition but also modernity come together to transform the typical alleys into real open-air museums.
